We believe in treating the “whole child” which means we don’t just focus on the symptoms present. We take into consideration all aspects of your child’s difficulties and develop an individualized treatment plan unique to their needs. We provide pediatric therapy for Longview, TX, East Texas, and surrounding areas. Treatment is provided by a licensed speech therapist with extensive experience in pediatrics. Children are evaluated and treated by the same therapist to ensure continuity of care to maximize progress and goal attainment. If you have questions about your child’s development, just give us a call.
I have been a speech language pathologist for 27 years and have always had a love and passion for pediatrics. I have extensive experience in a variety of settings including the school system, outpatient clinics, and pediatric home health. I believe therapy is most effective when conducted one-on-one, in a familiar environment that includes family members and caregivers. I believe in a “team approach”, that by building a relationship with your child’s doctor and other professionals is the best way to treat “the whole child” rather than just the symptoms. The more we work together, the better the results are for the child.
I am a problem solver and thrive on finding new and innovative ways to help children. As a speech language pathologist, I know each child is one of kind. I thrive on navigating different therapy and strategies to determine what works best for each “individual” child. With all children, including medically fragile children, sometimes there is more involved than just the symptoms revealed in the assessment. This is why I believe it is important to think “outside the box” and not expect one approach to therapy work for all.
Parents have questions and concerns about their child’s future, they just need guidance and comfort. By empowering families through education and compassion, I am able to guide them through challenges and assist them with advocating for their child. Children thrive on structure and will work for you if they trust you. By providing children with compassion, structure, and expectations, a relationship is built, and opportunities are created for children to achieve developmental tasks, increase performance, and strive for independence in their daily environment and community.
